Better try to deal with black cab! The price could around 50 LE. Some ask more but if you could convince them, you pay finally 50!
Yellow cab are expensive, my opinion, for long distances!
And be sure the cab let you in the right place, not in the parking area!
Good luck, and tell us how much you will pay!

Any one of the white cabs have AC and would prob be happy for the money. Also, limousine services are many, u can look em up in the yellow pages.

Maybe you have to pick up somebody from the airport!
The best thing is to find a friend that has a car, deal with him/ her to join you, maybe there you have to wait a little till the flight lands, sometimes they are late, so if you get a white cab.... or yellow one....you ll pay all the period of waiting!
Also, in this way you avoid quarreling driver, that seeing you now you depend on him, start to ask more and the deal is broken!
Usually they say something and after that they turn their mind!
Dear members! Could you tell how many times you deal for one price and when they reach destination they start asking more?
With me it happens almost all time!

I prefer white new cab. It is fixed, conditioned and more comfort.
It will cost 50 - 60 Egyptian pound nearly. It depends on traffic.
Good luck.

Who

I was once on a lookout for Cairo airport to Alex airport transport. Did not need to use it eventually.

At the time, my search dug up this very interesting URL - for all those who'd rather shy away from haggling @ the airport -

They outta meet your criteria of cheap, safe, air-conditioned public transport.

It quotes LE 45 for Maadi to Airport - and you still need to call to find out Maadi bus stop -- and like suggested above - if a LE 50 cab can get you there, then why go here.  :|

For a fee the travel agencies will pick you up and drop you off too.  It's not the least expensive option but sometimes the service is worth the expense.  I've tried many different ways and the only one I like better is to have a friend take me to the airport and pick me up when I return.  When I have someone coming to visit and they arrive while I'm working it's also a good option.  The travel agency will have someone at the gate with a sign with the persons name on it, will carry the bags to the car, drive them to the address you provide, and carry their bags in.  The driver will also call and update you too.  It'll cost more but when you just got off of a two day flight stuffed into planes like cattle and then have a taxi driver who gets lost trying to find Maadi, then gets lost in Maadi, can't speak a word of English and wouldn't listen to you if he could the extra money kind of seems like a bargain.  I made reservations for a trip next month and the cost for taking me when I leave and meeting me and taking to my flat (in Maadi) when I return is LE 140.  A bit more than a taxi but a good price considering the extra service.

you can also ask for shuttle bus for some hotels.
I know JW Marriot offers this but they are far from Maadi.
