Ladies that Lunch!
Hello - I moved to Mauritius about 3 months ago from the UK and I now live in Grand Baie and I absolutely love it, it is such a lovely island. However, I do miss my girl mates, going for lunch on a Saturday, having some drinks out at the weekend or just hanging out at each others houses and putting the world to rights - it can get a bit lonely sometimes.
I would really like to meet up with other ladies who have taken the amazing step of moving their lives to Mauritius so that I can once again enjoy lazy lunches and chat in the only way that girls can!Â
Give me a shout if you would like to meet up and maybe, if there are a few of us, we can have our very own ladies that lunch club!
Samantha
Hi Samantha, I do lunch . It would be nice to get a few ladies together for a social outing in the North. Keep me posted.
Hey... Heyjude (that made me smile... I'm easily amused!), sure will let you know. I've had a bit of feedback but it is proving more difficult than I ever thought it would be to get a few people together for lunch. Wondering is socialising isn't the done thing anymore and I'm behind the trend!
Hi Islander, great idea! I just moved to Mauritius too (North) and would love to have a ladies lunch :-) keep me posted! take care, catherine
LOL Islander, maybe just suggest a day / time / venue and see how many takers you get.
I would love to join you all as I'm always alone during the day but I'm far from you guys I'm in blue bay next to marine park ........I've met one lady who comes to see me every 2 weeks we just met on this site but she has gone off to Australia for a few months so I'm back to square one .
Hi..would love to join you ladies..living alone in the north as well and looking to make new friends
Hi ladies.... Well I think there are enough of us wanting to be ladies that lunch for us to try and organise something... This is always the tricky part. Most of us live in the North bar 2 girls so it would seem to make sense for the first 'ladies that lunch' meet up to be in the North and then next time we can head West/South and lunch there.
It has to be a weekend for me due to the unfortunate situation of me having to work for a living (I haven't found a way around that yet!) so, how about next Sunday? If we get the day confirmed then we can sort out the venue after. Private message me with your availability or if you can't make that day then please let me know when you are free.
Anntropez, do you drive? I know someone who is living in the West, you may be able to meet up and head North together.Â
Any other potential lady that lunches reading these posts and wanting to join in then please do.... The more the merrier, literally!Â
We could the Mauritian version of the WI accept we probably won't do a lot of knitting and clothes making but we may have the food, drink and social side covered!
Have a great weekend
I drive but no car and Sunday is not a good day for me unfortunately it would be only Monday to Friday so I think you will have to count me out .....hope you get it going because its very hard to make friends in Mauritius especially when you don't work or have children .........I think a dog is the answer for me !
Anntropez, that's a real shame. Don't worry, you will meet and make new friends, sometimes it just takes a bit of time.. Don't give up. A dog would be nice ..... You might meet your new best friend while walking your dog one morning.
Stay in touch and let me know how you are getting on
Dear Ladies,

Hi Michelle,
How are you finding Mauritius?
i am a British born Mauritian and I am coming over in June for 4 weeks and would love to meet up with any °µÍø½ûÇøs.
I am also a freshly qualified teacher and am thinking of teaching English with the British council, but want to feel out Mauritius first.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated or would be happy to meet for lunch if your free during June.
