Living in Taiwan with children

Can anyone who lives in Taiwan with children attending school  give me some insight?  Does the gov't charge a fee for foreigners attending school there?

At least that is what I have learned!

Here is an uptodate English brochure explaining Taiwan's education system and plans.

My understanding is, children holding an ARC have the right to attend public school and don't incur any other fees.  In Taipei County at least, they also have pretty good "Chinese as a Second Language" assistance for children whose parent/s are not native speakers of Chinese.

You could try calling the numbers on the above document to see if you can get more information.

Oh BTW, public school fees are around $1,500/semester for elementary school, plus $400/month for lunch.  Preschool around $15,000 per semester.
