Thank you for this forum 😎
Good luck. Hopefully the tourist dependent areas are revitalized soon. Right now that part of the city is a ghost town
Hi everyone,
Planning to move to Saigon towards the end of the year from Singapore. I run a consultancy business with focus on organisational and leadership development, as well as change management for SME and large organisations, as well as a licensed psychotherapist (specialise in CBT and REBT) and executive coach. I have been to Saigon many times over the past 5 years for short visits, but have now decided to move there for a longer period (maybe around 2 - 3 years).
I would be looking for a personal private driver having experienced the traffic conditions in Siagon. Where might I find reliable personal private drivers in Siagon?

You forgot the golden rule. You must first suggest that they look in the °µÍø½ûÇø classifieds. Â
Hi folks. I'm a 65 year old Aussie who's been here (now in Da Nang) for just over a year. I love the place. It was going to be my second or third stop of my round-the-world retirement trip, which began in December 2019, but I entered a holding pattern here when everything went belly-up for travel last year. I consider myself lucky to be "stranded"Â Â here.
I am interested in whatever info is around re covid vaccination (here in Vietnam) for folks in my situation, and posted here about this. I'm sure something will come to light as the fog clears about the rollout process here.
All the best to everyone here, especially people who might be in trying circumstances (employment, trouble getting home etc).
I'm of similar interests and moving to Vietnam in May. Let's connect.
Hello everyone. My name is Kashyap from Bangalore, India and I just arrived in Saigon with my wife. We are currently undergoing mandatory quarantine.Â
We have a cat back home in India who will also arrive via cargo once our quarantine is over. I am reading mixed reviews about apartment complexes being pet friendly. Could anyone here please advise on which apartment complexes are pet friendly? Thanks in advance.
I'm from Malaysia and eager to move to Vietnam if I can land a full time job either in Marine (ship repair, shipbuilding & shipping operations), Oil & Gas or Renewable Energy (Biodiesel, Ethanol & Solar). I have a total of 34 years experience and is currently doing consultancy work. Hope I get positive response from kind individuals based in Vietnam.
I wish I had info for your cat but if you don't mind I'd like to ask how you got in? I'm waiting for Vn to open before I visit and decide how long to stay. I figure it must be you or your wife's work, or is she a citizen?
Hope you find great digs with your cat!

Hi John. Both of us are Indian citizens. I have visited VN on business before, but for my wife it's the first time. The company I work for has presence in India and VN, so it was just a relocation for me within the group.Â
I took the Bangalore - Doha - Saigon route on Qatar Airways. There were a lot of procedures to be carried out before this. My company applied for HCMC health department clearance, CDC clearance, and some other things I do not recall now (but let me know if you need more info). Prior to all this, I had to legalise/ notarise documents at the VN embassy in India and send to my colleagues here. Of course, covid tests and declaration prior to entry to VN.
Not sure where you are entering from, but Qatar Airways flies four times a week to HCMC if I am not wrong
Thanks for your wishes.
Thank you, Kashutd! I don't have any business there so I'm waiting till I can get in with a tourist visa. I heard something about the Vn govt considering some sort of vaccine visa but waiting to hear the particulars.
Thank you again, and enjoy!
-John

Most are not officially pet friendly, mine says anyone caught with a dog or cat gets the water turned off. I have two cats and no issues yet..
I think most aee concerned with mess and smell... cats should be fine, but check with your landlord first

If you have the relevsnt qualifications it will be easier, but never a guarantee, here who you know often counts for more than what you know
New here. Looking to network and explore some options. The dynamic changed stateside so I'm seeing what I can do locally. I'm a network engineer so remote work would be easily accomplished too.

Thanks a lot for your inputs. We heard Vinhomes is friendly and checked with the landlord as well and she was fine with having a cat as long as he does not claw at sofa and furniture. Hopefully, no issues later on
Hello everyone

Send me a private message and I will give you the information for my Visa agent. She might be able to help you, though I'm personally not sure what business visas are going to be available to Any Nation after the lockdown is lifted. If it's possible for you and your nationality she will be able to do it
Hi everyone

I've been teaching English as a back-up but keen to look for work at NGOs or any sort of social research, to match my uni degree. It's been slow going so far!

Hi -
My name is Binh and I left VN in 1975 at the age of 7. Have been living in the US ever since.
Have always wanted to visit VN, mostly as a tourist.
Surprise surprise, found out in 2020 that my wife has a half-sister living in Binh Duong.
We are planning to visit her.
Should be very exciting.

Hi I'm Dion,
Currently living in the amazing city of HCM. Moved here 2 years ago. I have residency here so I don't have to worry about visas and feel the creative juices juicing on a daily basis. Looking forward to meeting other nomads/°µÍø½ûÇøs who live here.
Hi my name is Tex ( retired Breadman from America) I am currently living in Bohol Philippines ( 2 years) before that I lived in Thailand (5 years) before that Mexico ( fishing village near Cabo 6 years). Will be relocating to Da Nang in July 2021 ( have been to the two major cities twice with friends that grew up there. Question I have is I’m wanting to live 2 hrs. outside of Da Nang ( away from tourists areas ) can anyone recommend a place to live long term ( don’t need to work ). Thanks Tex

You don't have to be very far out of Da Nang to be completely away from other foreigners. The problem is that you can get far enough pretty nearby that nobody will speak English. It's not like the Philippines that way.
By the way, what is a "Breadman?"Â Are you a baker, or do you just have a lot of "bread?"

Hello everyone. I am Nicolas, and I am looking for a chef job in Saigon. I am currently working in Paris as a sous chef in a boutique Hotel. I speak fluently French, English, and I am learning Vietnamese.
I know how hard is it to hire foreigner in Vietnam, but if you have any suggestion and tips, I will be more than happy to hear it.
Have a good day everybody, thank you very much.
I started my international adventure in 1978 with an assignment in Iran. Being my first assignment outside of the States it was a time of constant discovery. This was followed with assignments in Chile, Australia, Papua New Guinea, Mexico, China, New Zealand, Columbia, Iraq, Mexico, China, India, Singapore, Mexico, China, Australia, Chile, Oman, Australia, Chile, and finishing up in Indonesia.
I am in the process of learning to retire, and currently living with my wife in Westport, Ireland. We also maintain another home outside of Dallas, Texas.
We have triplet girls that were born in Singapore and are all completing their BAs, (University of Texas, Austin; Rutgers and Cambridge.
I want to have a look at Vietnam by starting with spending a Winter, (15 Nov - 15 Mar) and then make a decision after that. My wife's requirement with any new location is that is must be on the coast, hence my interest in Nha Trang.
I would like to rent a two bedroom unit that is near the beach and has shopping, restaurants and bars near by.
I am open to all guidance on this.
Regards,
Tom

Did any of you use either of these three companies listed below to assist you in obtaining your visa, Sponsorship and visa approval letter? I would like to hear your opinion & your experience. Thanks for your help.
1. Emerhub
2. Vietnam Visa Booking
3. Get Visa Vietnam

Could you share the basis of your residency permit with us? Is it based on marriage, employment, investment or some other basis?

As I would expect if you are an MD.Â
Although your post immediately preceded my question, my query was directed to diontravels whose post is #72, You will find that most people find a way to quote the person that they are responding to. There are other ways to direct a question, but that is the most common.
