Hey everyone, just wanted to introduce myself. I鈥檓 Kyle, I鈥檓 33, and I originally came to Sint Maarten a couple years ago after working on cruise ships for about 7 years. I found a remote work opportunity and figured鈥� why not try island life for a while?
It鈥檚 been a great experience so far 鈥� and if anyone鈥檚 thinking of relocating or has questions about what life is like down here, feel free to reach out. Always happy to share what I鈥檝e learned the hard way.
Somewhere along the way I fell in love with the island and decided to try opening a bar. I got pretty far with it 鈥� the business structure is complete, and both the operating and holding licenses have already been approved. But I wasn鈥檛 able to pull the final funding together, so I鈥檝e decided to step away.
I figured I鈥檇 mention it here in case anyone鈥檚 looking for a shortcut into the SXM hospitality scene. If you鈥檙e dreaming about opening a bar or restaurant in the Caribbean but don鈥檛 want to spend months caught up in the local bureaucracy, I鈥檝e already got the paperwork in place for you to launch immediately. Not here to pitch anyone hard 鈥� just figured it was worth putting out there.
