How can I get my Egyptian husband to England ☹️

Zoeke

I was just wondering what are the requirements and what visas should I apply for?
We are not yet married but will soon be married in Egypt. My partner is a fully qualified vet. Don’t know if him being a “professional” helps at all?

If not England is there any other countries... like Spain which would be easier for us to move to as a married couple.

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

Brexit is hovering over the UK at the moment, so anything I say may be affected by that.

A marriage visa is available; details of how are described on the UK Gov website; this will take you there.

Strangely, vets don't appear on the UK shortage occupation list, so he will not be able to apply for one of the special work visa's relevant to that group.  It may be that other countries do make special immigration provisions for veterinary surgeons, but I have no information on that, perhaps you should ask the question in the Forum for that relevant country.

Whatever, veterinary surgeons wishing to work in a country outside of where they qualified will need to check that their qualifications are recognised where they intend to practice.

Hope this helps.

Adding to what Cynic has said, he will also need to know the local language where you will be based as you will be dealing with the general public.

A foreign vet has to take this exam, but taking it does t mean he can get a work permit.

You can apply for him to come to the UK as a spouse. If your relationship is legit, and ongoing and you have been seeing each other for a long time it's not a big deal... but they require lots of physical visits not virtual contact.
