Welcome to the forum [ Ricky normally does the introductions] But I thought I could set the ball rolling while the iron is still hot.

Anyway, just to let you know, my wife is non-EU but getting a job was rather straight forward for her. She applied (sent CVs) to seven jobs. She was called for three interviews and she was offered employed by two companies hence taking the best offer.

I am not saying its going to be the case when you come here because sometimes someoneÂ’s personal is taken into account and of course the industry you're targeting. But in Malta it looks like anything to do with IT and numbers is a sure thing.

your qualifications description does not really give an indication as to what kind of job you would be looking for.

You would need to find a company willing to file a work permit application for you and that would be year-by-year !

If you are a native speaker of 5 languages you sound like the perfect candidate for i-gaming customer care.

To be honest , it will be difficult to relocate to Malta on a long term basis.

To judge your chances it takes more information on your individual case.

To find an adequate managerial job as 'foreign outsider' is not so easy, it's like a "protected area" here.

Of course you can find a job as (administrative) "Manager" - like almost everyone here - but then you also get paid like almost everyone here ...

With knowledge of 5 languages you'll be predestined for a customer care Job for one of the countless online gaming/betting companies, but this implies working on shift and - considering this - the salary is also not that good ... anyhow, it's enough to pay the bills

I'm actually in health economics and health care-services management and work closely with McGill University in managing and overseeing several medical and residency programs and departments.
So, I'd be looking for something along those lines in Malta, doesn't have to be health-care, I'm open to parlaying those skills and skill-set to a different environment.
For instance, given the current disarray at the Univ.of Malta, are they really looking for competent people who might remedy the situation there and get the departments and programs running smoothly and functionally again?

Not really (the UM actually never worked smoothly before - but it'a a relaxing location to get a degree ), as I have learnt from the technical facilities, they are still waiting until the designated persons (qualified or not?) from the governmental party finally take the seats in the boards ...

you certainly have an impressive list of skills and experience in health care management.

Whether they are in demand in Malta is very difficult to say. I would suggest you submit your CV to several of the job agencies and see what they recommend. It could take longer to find an interesting and decently paid position.

I presume your language skills do not include Maltese. If you can speak Maltese that would make things a lot easier as most business is done in Maltese, especially when being involved in day-to-day management and dealing with government agencies.

Which 5 languages do you speak? Language skills in Malta usually mean skills on the level of a native speaker.

No Maltese is unfortunately not one of my languages.
They are English, French, Spanish, Bengali and Turkish. I'm just trying to scope out what the possibilities are for someone like myself in Malta. If the kinds of skills I have are transferrable to other sectors if not healthcare.

French and Spanish are the interesting languages for the Maltese market.

English is taken as granted, Bengali very exotic but Turkish could also be an asset in certain areas.

Management positions are often handed to somebody who knows somebody or has a friend somewhere in government or management or within the family. It is not always about being qualified for a position , sadly !

I'll keep my eyes open for something that fits the description.

Why are you looking at little Malta to move too ?

Hi Ricky,
I loved my time in Turkey but just did not feel that was where I should settle. I really love the Mediterranean climate and lifestyle and with the on-going financial mess happening in Greece, Spain, Italy, France and even Turkey vis a vis the Syria situation, Malta seems to be a small corner of that part of the world which still seems peaceful. I know it probably has it's fair share of it's own problems like anywhere else but it's a part of the world I really love and want to return to.
