Hello,

Do I have to set up a company or buy property in Montenegro to get a residency permit? I don't really want to go the setting up a company route nor can I afford to buy property.

I will be living off of savings and looking for remote work while I am there. Is it possible to get a residency permit doing so?

Also, do I need a laywer/accountant to fill out the paperwork and apply for me, or can I do it myself? I'd rather save the money if possible.

You can do it on your own but the two ways to be done are:
a. through company you register /even a consulting business is fine/
b .buying a property

I also tried another way, anamarqe. I work remotely and I tried to get the visa without open a company or buy a property here, but it's impossible. You can do it by your own, but it is a little challenging when we do not speak the language. If you would like to follow one of this paths, DM me, I know an accountant that has a really good price and can help you with everything you need.
