Does anyone know if the environmental charge still applies when registering a UK car in Romania? I tried asking the RAR but as usually happens my e.mail has been ignored. Thanks

From what I read (not my direct experience), there is no environmental registration tax now.
It was canceled in 2017 because it was considered illegal by EU Commission and the previous government couldn't come up with one that would be acceptable. The new government intends to introduce a new registration tax soon.
