Pre employment medical

Leedslad

I wanted to share my experience of recently having the pre-employment medical... What an experience.

I turned up at the hospital and I have never experienced anything like it... They truly go over everything THOROUGHLY and do not miss a thing... heart, lives, intestines and bloods... If they tell you everything is ok, I would definately take it as a thumbs up

What were your thoughts when you had this?

Well, we don't know what hospital or country you're referring to. For my particular experience, I also had two very thorough medical checks in Cairo, as part of my work visa processing for Saudi Arabia.  I spent the entire morning at one hospital and spent the entire afternoon into the evening getting a second battery of tests, some different and some the same.  Then after 4 or 5 days we went back to KSA with our work permit in hand, and I thought I was finally finished and ready for my Iqma. WRONG! Though they took two complicated series of examinations, they wanted yet one more. So after I returned to KSA, I got yet another examination, to make a total of three, all of them redundant.  Thankfully I didn't have to pay for those exams. If I had gotten those physical exams in the USA prior to arriving, I would have paid about $1,000.00 USD or maybe more; however, I did have a nice feeling, having gone through three exhaustive exams and still getting a thumbs-up clean bill of health.
