Greetings All:

I've been in Dhahran/Khobar for about a year now, and I've found most everything I need to function.  There's still one thing I really miss from the States - a nice cozy coffeeshop where I can go and read/work.  Ideally I'd love to find one similar to the types that are around college campuses in the States (perhaps trade the couches and artwork for cushions and oud burners, which would be kinda cool).

All I seem to find are chain stores that have stuffy and/or small sitting areas, often in malls.  Not really conducive to what I want.

Anybody know of any?

Nope, I had enough of having to sit in the men's section with a load of smokers and getting indifferent service.
I bought a Gaggia and have exclusive use of my own sofa.

And better coffee :)

whenever I need some time for myself.. I go to Dr. Cafe at the Corniche.. they have nice comfy couches.. and the coffee and strawberry muffins are good too..

Cafe Liwan is also a nice place to chill too..

Hi everyone,

Am new to Khobar too, and have been searching for this inspiring, stimulating coffee shop with loads of books shelved on its walls, but in vain... Did any new coffee shop open since the last 2 years? Appreciate the help...
