Asking a Mexican girl to be my girlfriend

DavHoks

I know in Mexico it is different than in Europe. Where I come from, you meet a person and after some time it just becomes clear that it is a relationship.

I am talking a lot with a girl from Mexico and there it is crucial to ask the girl officially after some time to be your girlfriend. I have seen people make big romantic proposals but my current situation doesn’t really allow that.

Currently I am unable to see her but the next time I do, I would like her to already be official with me. So I was wondering whether there is an appropriate way of asking her without actually being there present.

I was thinking of writing a very romantic old fashioned letter and at the end of it asking her to be my girlfriend.

Now my question here is: Do you think a letter like this would be considered appropriate for this situation?

The last thing I want is to not meet her expectations, since I have no clear image of what they might be.

Hi. You sound like a thoughtful and considerate young man. I believe that it is best to wait, and ask the young lady in person. In person is more romantic and meaningful than a etter, text, phone call, or email. Plus, if you write and mail a letter, there is a possibility it won't arrive. Good luck!
