Hello,
Brand new to the forum and just starting to explore the idea of moving to Tonga (stumbled across a You Tube video that painted a lovely picture) and wanted to get some insight into the more practical aspects like requirements for residency etc.Â
Any help would be much appreciated.
best regards,
Jim

Hello
I am Markus, 47 years old from Germany.
I am now starting to think about my retirement and I would like to take a closer look at Tonga.
Preferably first in the form of a holiday to experience all the pros and cons for myself.
If it is possible, I would also think about emigrating. But the conditions would have to be right first.
Income, expenses, medical care in case of emergency, self-sufficient life possible, etc.
As far as I know, you are not allowed to buy land there, but you can lease it. I would be able to provide for myself as much as possible with agriculture and live self-sufficiently.Â
On the other hand, there is the Corvid 19 situation and how it is dealt with in Tonga, or when and how one can travel there again.
I am looking for nice contacts who have already had experience with the country and its people and what the current situation is like there.
I would be grateful for any help, advice and recommendations.
Thank you for your time for my words and I wish you a nice day.
Kind regards from Berlin
Markus
