Good morning, Former part-time teacher of French and literature at the middle school in Paris, 33 years old, I currently live in Cairo, where I have started research in philosophy and history of religions, I offer private lessons in French, literature and philosophy - all levels, and adapted to the levels, needs and varied objectives of my different students. To speak generally, and apart from adapting to the level and specificity of each individual, I emphasize with my middle school students both the study of French grammar, which is essential for good expression and ultimately for well-formed thought (what is well conceived is clearly stated, isn't it?); but also a thorough understanding of literary texts, which fosters an appetite and a taste for reading. It is a matter of the students experiencing the text, feeling the full range of emotions it provides, grasping its full depth, even understanding its humor... As for my high school students, I focus heavily on the method of commentary and dissertation, repeating the training, and the corrections (because repetition is indeed the art of pedagogy). But, it is important for me not to limit myself to technical and mechanical learning with my students, I also aim to provide them with a true humanist culture, where literature, philosophy and science are closely intertwined, so that they deeply understand the texts they study. Ancien professeur vacataire de français et littérature au collège-lycée à Paris de 33ans, je vis actuellement au Caire, ou j'ai entamé une recherche en philosophie et histoire des religions, je propose des cours particuliers de français, de littérature et de philosophie -tous niveaux, et adaptés aux niveaux, besoins et aux objectifs variés de mes différents élèves.
Pour parler de façon générale, et en dehors de l'adaptation au niveau et à la spécificité de chacun, je met l'accent avec mes élèves de collège à la fois sur l'étude de la grammaire française indispensable à la bonne expression et en définitive à une pensée bien constituée (ce qui se conçoit bien ne s'énonce-t-il pas clairement ?); mais aussi sur une compréhension approfondie des textes littéraires, qui favorise l'appétit et le goût à la lecture. Il s'agit pour les élèves de vivre le texte, de ressentir toute la palette d'émotions qu'il prodigue, d'en cerner toute la profondeur, d'en comprendre même l'humour …
Quant à mes élèves de lycée, je me concentre grandement sur la méthode de commentaire et de dissertation, en répétant les entraînements, et les corrections (car la répétition est bel et bien l'art de la pédagogie). Mais, il est important pour moi de ne pas me limiter à un apprentissage technique et mécanique avec mes élèves, j'ai également pour objectif de leur prodiguer une véritable culture humaniste, où littérature, philosophie et science sont étroitement imbriquées, afin qu'ils comprennent en profondeur les textes qu'ils étudient.
