what kind of question is that. of course u need a work permit to work in a country other than urs except in the case u r a citizen of the EU and u want to work with the EU borders.... but the Egyptian work permit isn't the hardest to get specially if u r a western citizen. Good luck

There are two things if you want to work for in Egypt.

1. If you have good direct terms with the company may be you can work without permit based on the visa extension but in this case the only problem you will not be able to open bank account but will be getting salary in Cash. This is what I did for initial 6 months as my company was missing some documents to submit before to start my work visa process

2. If you want to go with the work permit then at first your company should be registered company only then they will be in position to apply for a work visa for foreign employee, I would recommend you to apply for company based outside Egypt as for them getting the work permit is alot more easier then local companies, There is a law that if you get one Foreign expert you have to hire not too sure ,may be 6 or 7 local engineers to provide opportunity to local citizens as well. luckily my company is registered in Canada and Egypt both so they applied for my permit as a Canadian company.

But in any case the government process is TOOO dead slow it might will take from 6 months to 1 years to get the work permit.
