I have been to oldonyo sabuk national park. Its a beautiful place, but you have to take a armed ranger to look around the park. We only did hiking there, it is beautiful n cool place n best for nature lovers, place is with nature sceneries and some wild animals like, bison, zebra, giraffe & leopard but hard to spot it. I find washroom is bad, but cant say about the lodge as it was our day trip only, you have to carry imp stuff as shops are 1-2 km from national park, thou at the gate there was a shop but only for sodas n water While going to this national park even you can visit 14 falls a picnic place, which is before reaching park, on the way.

Thanks Rohit. I just came back. I will take this opportunity to straighten up some info that is posted on KWS website about this Park. Gate is only 73-75 km away from Nairobi. Last 6 km is a dirt road but totally passable at least when dry. Entrance fee for residents is 500 bobs, camping 300 and taking armed guide to the peak 1500 bobs (obligatory but IMHO not necessary at all). Trip to the top and back takes about 4 hours. It is 18 km both ways and one has to climb up and down about 700 meters. Peak is 2160 m asl. Difficult to spot animals except monkeys, but views on the way are very nice, unless you have fear of open spaces. Facilities aren't great. They provide nice grass to set up a tent, pit latrines are rather clean, but they had no water in the tap or shower. They are building new toilets and showers, it looks like it could be finished in a few weeks, but I did not see builders there. Seems safe and staff was friendly. Make sure you have your own food and drinking water. Basic products can be purchased 2 km away from the Park's gate in a little town. Not a bad place for one day trip from Nairobi by car or two days by bicycle.
