Bear in mind that Kenya is already flooded with Chinese products.聽 Lots of Kenyan business people have been trying with China for some years now and regularly travel to China to do business directly with manufacturers/suppliers.聽聽My view is that you are coming in on the tail end of an already well established market.

The people I know who already do business in China wouldn't want a business partner, as they'd prefer to financially gain from not having one.聽

Also be very aware of the possibility of being conned - your Kenyan based business partner will have an advantage, as you cannot legally carry out any business activities in Kenya without a permit and your business partner will know this.
