How does works Safaricom ?

Jief

Hi all,

I'm looking at their website and I don't understand.

There is no prices at all. It looks like it's prepaid only but it's not very clear. Can I have a safaricom line straight from the beginning (which means before I get the residency visa) ?

Does anyone know more about safaricom ?

Thanks.

JF

Hi Jief,

You can have a safaricom line as soon as you arrive. I recommend that you get one as soon as you can and activate your mpesa ( mobile money). You will need your original passport to setup your sim and mpesa. You can also checkout my article on recommendations on getting settled in Nairobi.

The majority of people have a prepaid line. Data and airtime is cheap in Nairobi.
On a prepaid line i spend 2000 kes on airtime and data and majority of coffee shops, restaurants, malls have wifi.
I am not too knowledgeable on postpaid but you can start off with prepaid line. Getting this setup is easy don't sweat it!
