roger-barcelona

On september I'll be in tripoli and I'll have to look for a place to live...which neighbourhoods you recomend? I don't want an exclusive °µÍø½ûÇø ghetto...i would preffer a mixt of locals/°µÍø½ûÇøs...well situated...

The only °µÍø½ûÇø "ghettos" are the privately run estates such as Regatta.

Everywhere else is pretty much mixed.

Fave °µÍø½ûÇø locations are:

- Janzour

- Siraj

25km and 22km west of Tripoli respectively.

why?

They are generally quieter areas, the houses are bigger, a swimming pool and off-street parking are the norm, crime rate is lower and so on...

If you want somewhere more central, there are properties available between Gargaresh and Gurgi roads.

and if you are feeling like having some extreme experience, choose the city itself... :D

1) lots of locals around you - not very many °µÍø½ûÇøs, if at all

2) you will have to go everywhere on taxi, at least in the beginning, and the traffic jams are a common thing after 12

3) if you have kids, you'll have to either drive them to school or to hire a taxi for that, which will cost you...

4) all decent kids clubs and schools as far as I learned it so far are in Janzour/Gargaresh

and so on..

I wish I could change my location, but the earliest I can do it after a year (inshallah! ;) )
