no more religion topics - thanks
Hi everybody,
we noticed more and more religion-oriented discussions these days. It's just too much for us. We are an °µÍø½ûÇø website !
Respect each other, and discuss about religion in private (or on another forum). We won't hesitate to moderate. Thanks.

Good one mate, about time. My initial post was never intended to start any religious arguments, or to disrespect anyone's views or beliefs, it just ended up deteriorating into a slagging match.
Very good decission mate .... You should do it even before
we've exactly got 1543 forums on °µÍø½ûÇø-blog.com, in english, french and spanish and it is complicated for us to keep an eye on every single post (but we are doing our best!)

I think it was not right to be disrespectful with others beliefs, but I also do not agree that comments needs to be 'moderated by admins', is like censorship. Are just opinions of many many many cultures, dont make them taboo plz. And I think we all are grown asses to be writing here.
julien, I dont remember the terms of agreement at the moment of joining this forum, could you remind me?
freakyfingers > note that moderating doesn't mean deleting posts, and believe me, I really hate moderating the forum (I am 100% for freedom of speech and I completely disagree with censorship). But I receive too many complains these last weeks ... what should we do ? Any idea / suggestion that could help me ?

Hi Julien
I totally agree with what you've just said, as I noticed things getting a bit out of hand over the past few posts, especially with regards to perfectly innocent posts turning into personal attacks - but it seems my original post about gyms for ladies in Tripoli did in fact get deleted - and I never found out why. Can you maybe answer me that one, please....?
Thanks.
your post was not deleted, I'll send you a PM
There were never any religion posts here. They were always threads hijacked by Libyans to suit their own purposes.

I don't think moderators are native English speakers. I once wrote about "funky odors" and they moderated "funky" thinking it was another F word.
I believe "Religion" is French for "low-grade cheese"
are you sure you wrote "funky"? Cause we read something else
goods news: there is more and more people on the website
bad news: there is no many messages that we might make mistakes
good luck Julien that is right

I am slightly offended (I'm Libyan).
I don't think I ever hijacked or ever will hijack ANY thread 'for my own purposes', you're referring to forum trolls of ANY nationality.
Cheers
good luck Julien that is right
I am in full agreement with you Julien...having worked around the world for many years I have learned never talk about religion or politics in the country I live. Why rock a boat that is sailing on calm seas......
Hello Guys,
I never had the chance to read the religion discussions, although I would've loved to see different point of views, and maybe get in the discussion myself, and give my opinion as a a Libyan °µÍø½ûÇø.
Guys, there will always be conflict when opening any topic related to Human beings, either it's religion, ethnics, gender and so on, every one has a different opinion, and it will always be like that... don't try to change it!!
the key is think respect and speak with respect because we are all DIFFERENT !!!
once in a multi - cultural gathering, some friends were talking about Vietnamese eating Dogs (I don't even know if that is true)and laughing about it, until one brave woman asked them to stop, and said " don't laugh about other cultures because you might be a joke somewhere else"... that woman is now one of my closest friends.
cheers,
MB
