atm machine in Tripoli

shshuhup

anyone knows any other atm machine in town that accept worldwide/cirrus bank card? I only know 2 locations (Amman Bank at Gurgi and in the Shell bldg on Gargaresh)- which sometimes both will be "out of service temporarily" at the same time. what a "cool" feeling!

Enjoy it, and be ready for a "cooler" feeling :D

Here we use a more developed system, it's called "cash"

Sorry I can't help.

Most of Amman banks have atms and they are located around the city.  One machine at Souk Al Atalat, another at the entrance of the hospital on Omar Muktar Street, most major hotels have them in the lobbies, etc.  Amman bank also has some mobile units that can found downtown.  More and more are popping up all the time.  Good luck! :)

Hi, does your card only carry the 'Cirrus' logo? These are a dying breed globally and are mostly replaced with Visa Debit.

To be sure to be able to get money normally you're better going to the Corinthia Hotel where you'll find 2 International ATMS (BNP and Amman) and a local one. These almost always work.

The best exchange is to had at NCB Green Square where they only charge 4% as opposed to 10% at Amman and all the other ATMs. But again, this is Visa and isn't always working.

Mastercard seems to be quite well served here too, but this would be a 'credit' advance so you will be really hit for commission and charges.

I used to like the way that Cirrus worked all over the world but HSBC and most banks have now dumped it in favour of Visa. Maybe you could contact your bank and ask them for a Visa debit card.

Good luck.
