New Arrival Tripoli
What to introduce myself as I shall be arriving in Tripoli in the next few days/weeks. Just awaiting my reference number for my Visa.
I spent seven years in Saudi (90-97). Have lived in Sweden since 97. Have now been offered a position at the National Bank.
Just wanted to say hi....
Welcome to this interesting and fun group.Â
hi missan. beaware of this interesting and fun group:)
hi Missan
Welcome to this interesting and fun group
Welcome Missan! Best of luck with the move.
I think you mean the Central Bank? All except one or two banks in Libya are 'national'. I presume you're fluent in Arabic, no?
And hi back
Many thanks for the welcome. Nodoubt I will call apon this group for your advise and guidence durring my relocation to Tripoli. Still a bit nervious but at least the company I shall be working through will take care of all logistics and living/housing/travel requirements.
I spent 7 years in Dhahran and sorry I do not speak Arabic. I am a UK national, but have not lived in the UK for some 20+ years.
For some reason I always thought it impossible to work in/with Libyan banking&finance without knowledge of Arabic. I must be missing something
anyway, welcome and good luck
Banking can be dealt with in sign language, it is a very advanced banking system used here, it's called (The History of Banking), so sign language would be enough.

Not sure if that was supposed to be funny, but I laughed anyway.
Haha I second that...that was funny......in its own way.

how do you become UK national:) that is supposed to be british right? otherwise like, english national, welsh national, clansman and so on?

Easy. Enter the UK illegally on the back of a truck and claim asylum. The state will give you social benefits including housing and within a couple of years you'll have that burgundy coloured passport.
Hi everyone from one newcommer more....Sorry if my english is not so grammatically correct....but I think u all understand it :-) I'm a newcommer, as I said....and just registered here...to give a look of what could I discover from this site....just begining to explore this citty....for now with no success...since I have 2 girls (9 and 3,5 years old) and the littleone is still with me since the kindergarten starts on 19th... :-( but I hope (that's why my username is the same) that it will be better after.
Anyway, for a start, if someone has a usefull link with map or Tripoly, I would apreciate it! Thanks!

Then start moaning and complaining that the government and the people do not respect your religion, that English society is entirely depraved, that they should accommodate your non-english speaking @$$ which cant learn the language; and boast to every person you meet about the utopian society you left 'back home'.
There you go again. You guys are painting all immigrants with the same brush..............
Someone's thread is hijacked yet again. All these comments relating to immigration status and citizenship were really uncalled for.

or succeeding in that, learning the language and then coming back to your country and moaning about it and feeling superior towards your own people.
