Luckily I had the chance to go to O2 while visiting Tripoli the last few days. I really got a nice pair of pancakes in Maple Syrup which made me recall those nice IHOP shops in the States I used to be addicted for breakfast time.

I got the information from this blog and I am thankful for that.
Here in Benghazi we dont have such things.

I hope you find a shop for Waffles there. If not, there is always the chance to buy the waffle iron and prepare them at home.

So you should come more often to Tripoli . Waffle iron is difinitely an option but getting it here sounds like a problem though:P

lots of maple syrup and pancake mix for sale at the souk al talat. waffle iron?? not impossible -- i'd look around some of the stores that sell appliances either in mehari market or souk al talat or on the avenue rachida up from green square. they sell sandwich makers, one of those may have a waffle plate attachment.

I'm going to souk al talat this evening , Thanks mate. For waffle iron I guess i have to be lucky. So finally i have something to lookforward to this weekend.

No luck so far, checked out few shops for the waffle attachment but in vain. I will check all the shops this weekend, if it is available in tripoli... I will find it

Or i can bring one when i come back from New years vacation you need something?

Bustan Hotel Restaurant in Serraj has waffles & Syrup but as a desert [with your choice of ice cream or cream] not sure if it is also a breakfast item

By now it has become irresistible to ask. Hopefully people would be more forthcoming on a web forum with what they really think:

Waffles, Syrup, ice cream--when you repeatedly, and for years ingest this (these?), do you think about what you're really eating and how it will break down and interact with your body?
I am not opposing, nor am I trying to criticise or make a statement cloaked in inquiry. I'm truly intrigued by this and haven't yet to find a plausible explanation of what's appealing about a spoonful after a spoonful of sugar and grease. If we have 'desert' shops, then why don't we have sugareies--places where they would serve you a plate of finely ground gourmet cane sugar as lunch entrees?
