@longbb8 keep us posted. My first application was submitted in 2021. The medical and police clearance expired so I had to re-do the whole thing and re submit. I did this in May. I am still waiting though the EDB did come back to me and tell me it was with the PMO (Prime Ministers Office)

@brianwizzit The biggest wait was for the police clearance in SA. I applied online. Got approval in principle in 21 days. Came to Mauritius did medical opened bank account. Transferred funds. Loaded all documents to the edb paid the $1000 fee and now have appointment next week to present original documents and collect the permit. So the whole process was 2 months for me. It was not a difficult process just time consuming to wait.

Well done !   was your entire process from arrival on the Island to receiving your visa really only 2 months ?

Is this for Retired non-citizen ?

With which bank did you manage to open a bank account prior to receiving an OP/RP ?   Did they work on the pre-approval of the online EDB application or which documents did they use as proof ?

what are the steps you now have to follow to add your dependants once you have received your own visa ?

I applied on 4th Sept on 25th Sept I got the approval in principle while still in SA. I wrote to all the banks on the island. Some want you to deposit a ridiculous R1 m as a guarantee. Avoid those. The others want a bank reference letter and 6 months statements all these must be stamped by the bank. The point here is if you can show a bank balance of $18000 USD around R350000 in your bank account everything will be easier. You also  have to show you have monthly income of 1500 USD pm. I have contact at the bank. Pm me if you need to open account. I am a retired bank manager. You must show the approval in principle letter. I made sure I have all these in place.  You have a whole lot of documents for dependents. You apply at the passport office important it costs  400 USD per dependent.

I am sitting in Grand Baie on the beach as I write this. Regards Billy

@longbb8

Hi @longbb8, I have been following your posts with interest as we are about to follow the same route. We submitted my husband's application for a retired non-citizen resident permit last week from SA. So far the process has been straightforward. Hopefully we also get approval in principle without any hassle.  Where can I find a list of docs needed for the dependent? Is there a time limit? I imagine it would be birth cert, marriage cert, passport, medical, photos. Is there anything else? Thank you.
