I'm aware of the law to obtain citizenship by Naturalization. 5 years for Commonwealth citizens and 7 for others.

However, the law also gives the minister a fair amount of flexibility when it comes to these decisions.

So my question is, do you know anyone who was successfully acquired Citizenship by Naturalization ?

I've heard the authorities aren't very keen on granting it that way.

I'm also aware that the previous citizenship has to be renounced. (Only in cases of Naturalization)

Also, are citizenship related decisions also under legal jurisdiction of the Judiciary?

Could a person file a Judicial Review or a Writ of Mandamus to force the PM's office to act?

I'm not interested myself but know someone who might be and want to get an idea and opinions from people who've gone through the process.
