I would like to go and teach in Mauritius. What do I apply for first? A teaching post or a visa? What steps should I tale? I am 53 years old and urgently looking for a teaching post there and if possible with accomodation included. I have studied the map of Mauritius and thinking of either the northern parts e.g Grand Bay ?(Zone 1) or lower down on the west coast area. (Zone 4)

You need to obtain a job offer first as the formalities to apply for a "visa"/ the occupation permit which allows you to stay and work here must be initiated by the employer before the authorities.

You can google search private schools in the regions that are of interest to you and send your CV to the admins of these schools through their website.
