Police clearance certificate from South Africa - living in UK

nicholasmound

HI Everyone

I am wanting to apply for a retirement visa and am currently living in the UK for the past 5 years, having relocated from South Africa in 2019.

I believe I need a police clearance certificate for the past 10 years so will need an SA police clearance certificate, as well as one from ARCO in the UK. So I should get ARCO certificate from UK for the current, 5 years, but I will also need one from RSA for the previous 5 years correct?. I see that people have used agencies (eg apostile) but my question is firstly regarding the finger prints for the South African certificate - how do I do that living in the UK? Does anyone on the Forum have guidance on this, and also can anyone confirm that the UK ARCO certificate is accepted by EDB?

Many thanks in advance for help on this issue. Regards, Nick

We successfully used both a SA and a UK Arco certificate. However, not sure how you can get an SA certificate without fingerprints being taken.

@ Karibi

Many thanks for you reply and information. Good to know the ARCO works.

I have since found out that fingerprints can be done at certain police stations in the UK with an appointment and quite a hefty fee.

Does anyone on the forum have other ideas on fingerprints options in the UK, that would work?

@nicholasmound try the SA High Commission in London.
