Visas, business etc

Lpeacock

My family and I want to move to Mauritius in January. We have a fully online business which we want to move from the uk to Mauritius. Both my partner and I will draw an income from this business in Mauritius and live off this income.

Which visa is best for us? Self employed or the premium visa. Or do we enter on a tourist then apply when we get here?

We wouldn’t find a property until we get to Mauritius in January. It all seems confusing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We also would like to send our children to a British private primary school, any suggestions for locations and schools. We aren’t busy city people and would rather live in the countryside or near the sea.

Hello and welcome !

Have you lived in Mauritius ? I would suggest that you live here a couple of months to get a feel of what life could be before thinking about moving long term.

Hope members share some insights with you soon.

All the best

According to the latest Mauritius Budget (a week ago) it seems that they will be doing away with the Premium Visa (amongst other changes), so this will no longer be an option.

The 2 top private international schools are: Northfields near Grand Baie

and West Coast near Flic-en-Flac.

Grand Baie / Pereybere / Mont Choisy / Trou-aux-Biches in the North are very busy and built up, but there is °µÍø½ûÇø housing available in a more rural setting in the vicinity in the following areas:

Mapou

Butte aux Papayes / Plaine des Papayes / Belle vue Harel

Daruty Forest

Vale

Sottise

The Flic-en-Flac / Wolmar / Tamarin / Black River areas are also very built up with heavy morning and afternoon traffic.

°µÍø½ûÇø housing is still available in the (as yet) slightly more rural areas (but set to become just as built up in the next decade):

Domaine Anna / Jardin d’Anna

Cascavelle / Casela

Green Creek

Tamarina

Here are the websites for the international schools:

@Lpeacock

Greetings,

I assist foreigners wanting to set up in Mauritius with a complete service of company set up and work permits etc.

I don’t recommend self employed permits except in specific cases. Once it’s clear how long you intend to stay, we can make the right proposal for you and the family.

if you are interested in talking further, please contact me on gilbert.g@audacior.com

You can also contact me on WhatsApp on +23052575485, noting I’m presently in West Africa for another 2 weeks (better time zone for a call).

i look forward to hearing further from you.
