Best International schools

AlexandraMalmnas

Good morning, I am looking to move to Tamarin or Grand Baie area and was wondering which are the best international schools as I have a 6 yr old. I also have a 20 month old who would need a pre-school.
Thank you for any advise, Alexandra

If you are moving to G.Bay, may be worth checking @ IPS. Good school and very well disciplined. You have also a couple of nursery/pre-primary school for the underage within IPS area.

I know many °µÍø½ûÇøs in the Tamarin region have opted for Paul & Virginie.
In the north, you have IPS of course.

Thank you Siatt I know IPS system from my years in Portugal. Thanks for recommendation.

Hello, I am considering IPS for my children! Not the best but apparently this is as good as it gets in Mauritius!

Siatt

What do you mean?

Hello.

If you are looking for English education, you have a couple of options:

1. West cost school in Flic en Flac Road, Cascavelle.
Ìý

2. TelFair in Morcellement Saltpans, Tamarin,

Hi all

My husband and I are looking to relocate to Mauritius in 2019. Our son will be 5 so we will be looking for a primary school for him and our daughter will be 3 so we will be looking for a pre-school for her.

From what I have seen, West Coast and Northfields seems to be good options for English speaking °µÍø½ûÇøs but I'm worried we will not get in. Would it be recommended that we start applying now to secure a place for my son for 2019?

Also, if any one has any other recommendations for schools I would appreciate.

Thanks in advance :)

Hello,

To my knowledge Northfields is for older childrenÌý (11 years plus). IPS (which is affiliated to Northfields) is the primary school equivalent and I would think your son would get in there. My twin daughters aged 9 years will be joining IPS from next month. I don't think Northfields or IPS is over-subscribed.

Do you know CLAVIS international school??
You can check there.

Siatt

One point re Northfields, it can now take students as from Class 5 (i.e. from 9 years old kids).

Siatt

Hi, you may try IPS in that case. If you any further details please feel free. Where will you be living in Mauritius?
Cheers.

Hi there

Thanks to those that have responded :)

We are looking at West Coast so Tamarin or Flic en Flac.

From your responses, and looking into this further I see Northfields is quite far from where we want to be anyway, thank you. I think we will look at Westcoast and Telfair for my son.

Does anyone have an idea if any of these are over-subscribed?

Hi, I’m interested in teaching at an international school in Mauritius. What is the pay like?

Park Lane Properties

Tiny Tots Day Care and Telfair International Primary School are excellent. Very homely, quality education and they are a direct feeder to Le Bocage High School.Ìý They have been open for many years and have an excellent reputation.

Hi Alexandra,

If you are moving to Tamarin, I would recommend for your 6 year old and for your 20 month old.

Cheers
