20 years IT Experience - Can i move to Mauritius?

niftytraveller07

I have around 20 years of experience in IT as Analyst/Project Manager from India working for US based clients. I am done with working out of India and considering moving to new countries as part of my personal interest. I would need a job for living expenses(family would still be in India) during my time there and might be in Mauritius for 6 months to an year max. Can anyone help with my questions

1) Do companies like Accenture or BDO etc Mauritius hire foreigners like me directly?
2) If yes, how do i reach out for those jobs? what work permits do i need?
3) will there be any contract the company puts that i should not leave the job for an year or so ?
4) How is the work life balance in the IT jobs there? i would really need the weekends off and
occasional leaves to travel around. Is that possible?
5) I see salary range of 30,000 to 90,000 max Mauritius rupees for these jobs? what would be a good salary for my experience/skills?

Thanks a lot

Hello Niftytraveller

Welcome on board  :)

Professional foreigners in IT have all their chances since it is very much in demand. Many foreign companies are based in Mauritius and are open to employing professionals in the IT sector. For Accenture, you may reach out or apply directly on LinkedIn, the same goes for other multinationals.

You may also contact Recruitment Agencies in Mauritius for their services.

To be able to work in Mauritius, you need an occupation or a work permit. However, these permits should be applied for you by your employer, if he is willing to hire you.

Carefully read the following article : Work in Mauritius

Salaries in IT will depend on your experience and demand for your skills. Lots of indian nationals work in the IT sector. I hope some of them are present on °µÍø½ûÇø.Com and will provide you their insights...

I don't know about working on weekend etc, it will depend on the target market and the company. Salary wise have a look here :

HI

i am a canadian in mauritius involved in foreign worker industry.

You should contact companies directly with a note that " you will take care of your immigration approvals on behalf of company and yourself" costing them nothing.

this could encourage them to consider you as an employee. if they say yes, you can contact any agency  or me.
