Moving "stuff" and getting there

I'll be moving to Marrakech in late August. Ideally, I would like to travel with only a carry-on that contains enough for a few days and ship my clothes, books, a few personal items, some artwork, etc. What would be the best way? The flights there are not easy! It seems that the best way to get there is to fly to Madrid and then come over on a different carrier, like Ryanair. It can't be this difficult from Miami, can it? What am I missing?

Sounds great.
However check with the shipping company regarding items that may be聽
Detained by Morocco customs. They are very stringent regarding tapes, cd,s and some other items.
