New eyeglasses

FrancophileDavid

I live in Rabat and need to buy a new pair of eyeglasses. I need a recommendation for an optometrist. i also would like to know what I could expect to pay. I asked this on another forum and the only answer I received was "about what you would pay in Europe" which was no help.

Hi
I had some new lens put into existing frames a couple years ago, I don’t recall the cost, although I have a vague memory that it was marginally cheaper than the U.K.
You could try I’ve seen some good reviews for them.

Most glasses shop have an on sight Dr who can test your eye sight usually they would offer this service free if you buy the glasses from them.

Glasses price can vary depending on the brand and prescription required and options you choose on the type of lenses.

Just be careful as there are many shops that sell fake frames and charge you the same price as the original as they mislead you by saying they are genuine.

Frames can usually cost on average 2000 dh from a branded one and the lenses mine usally cost around 800-1000dh depending on the options and if i choose normal or sunglasses.

If you require a specialise Dr then depending on what test are required could normally cost between 200dh-2000dh

usually the high end prices are for eye scans to check for other issue. but for standard eye test around 200dh is the normal charge but can vary.

Hope this helps.
