Depending on the size you are looking at and if you prefer freestanding or an apartment, will make a big difference. However, decent accommodation in safe, central areas range from $1500 to $6000 for apartments (and more) and $3500 - $12000 for houses in Maputo. Matola, which is out of the city and an approximate 2- - 30 minute drive out, is about two thirds of the price.
