I would suggest that you narrow Asia down a little for better visibility and more response.

why don't you post your question (since you have named those countries) on forum China or forum Japan or forum Vietnam etc. Let's just not forget how big Asia is!

Welcome to the club. Personally I'd go for Thailand. I lived there as an English teacher and loved it. The main negative aspect is that you have to leave the country now and then to get a visa stamp. What do you want to do in the country?

It depends what you're after really. Asia is a massive place, full of adventures. I had a great time in China too.

If you've got some money behind you then you could just travel around for a while and decide what place you like best.

Do you prefer a faster or more relaxed atmosphere?
Are you okay with working long hours?
Do you prefer more noise or quiet? Introverted society or extroverted (ie. which do you think you would fit in better with)?
What kind of weather/food would you prefer?
Hobbies etc.

u know if u work in thailland example u ll ve salary thai is cheap the better is do ur busness but is hard cos u need assiosate with thai and sometimes is bad cos when open thai put u out of buseness i know asia i ve do many travel in asia thailland,indonesia,philippines korea etc i think better is korea cos economy is better and salary is little same that france but the life more cheap in korea me too work in restaurant and if u ll do buseness somewhere in asia i m serious i m french too

ItÂ’s not simply a matter of which country youÂ’d prefer, but what employment youÂ’d need to survive. I take it youÂ’re French, so that leaves out the teaching as most employment revolves around native English speakers. Manual work, such as bar and hotel work is looked down on in Asia, so IÂ’d suggest you donÂ’t mention it as you wouldnÂ’t get a job working there anyway. Manual work is reserved for the ethnic population.

Basically, unless you have some sort of skill(s) and/or are a native English speaker, youÂ’re unlikely to get paid work anywhere in Asia. The recession is hitting here as well and backpackers are being eased out from nearly all Asian countries. Having said that, I would suggest your best bet is Laos; simply because a lot of older people still speak French and there are quite a few French restaurants around Vientienne. Good luck.
