Purchasing a car and housing

allansim

Hi, My daughter is coming to work in Brunei for Two years as a teacher, she will get a $5000 low interest loan in order to buy a car. My question is.Can she get a good solid reliable car for that amount.  And I presume housing would not be a problem. Any guidance in the correct direction would be much appreciated re cars?flat, house rental. Many thanks. Allan.

She will able to buy 2nd hand car at that cost. just need to choose the right car with good condition. Some people advised to buy only japanese car because of durability, easy and low cost maintenance and easy and high value when you want to sell it back. For example Mazda 2 hatchback 2005 would cost around BND 5k to 8k depends on condition and year made. you may have a look at this website bruneiclassified dot com to get an idea the 2nd hand car market price.

Flat rental would be starting from BND 400 with 2 rooms partially furnish. house rental may a bit higher depends on location and furnishing.

Hope this will help you much.
