Hi Juliene,

Welcome to come Keqiao.

Well, Here it's not much difficult for you guys to stay.

Once you reach or enter in China you need to make registration within about 2 working days.

Also have here some agent to do work for foreigners to apply visa and all the work. Regarding health insurance and visa related everything will they helping to do for us.

Regarding walk or run in the street during day and night as we are all here staying so I think no any problems to walk alone any male or female all is ok. But still take care is better but no any problems. As we many couple here staying and like to evening walk some time in the silence dark garden area or lake side. So it's all ok.

Here for chinese we can speak little chinese but we never been to any place where can learn but here might be have one or twice more place to learn chinese.

Feel free to ask anything more ok

Regards
Scott
