International student moving to Guangzhou

Hi all my name is Rick from the UK, from June this year I will be moving to Guangzhou to undertake research at the Chinese Academy of Science. Would like to know if there are any other international students within the Guangzhou area, looking for advice i.e. cost of living for a student, nightlife and potential new friends.

I would just like to ask, what it is like in Guangzhou as a student i.e. is it cheap for students, night life travel in and around Guangzhou?

Hi Rick, it is not so expensive to live in GZ, or you also could get so part time teaching job

Hi Rick, so you'll be staying in Yuexiu district?
That's the older part of guangzhou. Will CAS provide accommendations for you?
Generally it's not expensive for a student to live in guangzhou.
And public transport system is really convenient for you to travel in guangzhou or to cities near guangzhou.
For nightlife, there're zhujiang new town area, Taojin area and some other popular student bars. I'm sure you'll meet lots of friends there.

The life here is not so expensive more than other province.
