Teaching role in Shenzhen

Hi all,

I am an English teacher currently based in Suzhou, Jiangsu, but have been invited to interview for a position based in Shenzhen.

Can anyone tell me what the cost of living is like in Shenzhen? Is 11000RMB a month a good salary for an area that is so near to HK?

There is also no accommodation included. I will have to pay this out of my own pocket. What should I expect to pay for an apartment per month there?

Any information is greatly appreciated.

It should be enough to have a decent life if you are alone, don't rent an expensive apartment, and are able to forget western food.

It depends on the area you want to live in Shenzhen. Some districts are really expensive, some are less... You can have a look on some website to have an idea:
