Where is the cultural life of Hong Kong?

SergioDub

Hi people,

I'm Sergio from Spain. I arrived in Hong Kong 3 weeks ago and I'm looking for the cultural life of Hong Kong. I mean one good cafe where the people sit down to watch the life pass and speak about music, movies and love, something like that. Some people told me that in Hong Kong there is not this kind of places, they say that Hong Kong isn't a very "humanistic" city but I don't believe them. Anyway I'm currently living in Tsim Sha Tsui, the place where Wong Kar Wai shot Chungking Express! (sorry I love Wong Kar Wai), so if anyone have the same interest as me, please text me.

Hi
There are a number of bars like that everywhere in HK, only they are often located inside buildings rather than on the ground floor.

Hi Justine,

Thanks for the info.

I hope to go there soon. Any special recomendation? or just any cafe? Do you use to go there with your friends? By the way, very good Spanish ;)

Hi Sergio,

I've been to Hong Kong for a while from Canada. It's quite a nice place to live, but too crowded, hot and wet, and not easy to find a local Hong Kong style restaurant, as most of them were found replaced by large shopping malls, modern hotels and so on. It's good to you to come by and smell the fresh air from here. I'm currently not living very close to you, but it won't take long to reach there. If you don't mind, we can go out sometime, share our experience from our home country and the food and drinks here.

Sam.
