Travelling from New Delhi to Uttarakhand

Hi,

I will be travelling from New Delhi to Uttarakhand towards the end of September this year. From what I have heard the train is the best way to do this, would everyone agree? I want something scenic and reasonably comfortable & safe.

If I wanted to book tickets, is it correct they have to be booked way in advance? Does any one know roughly how much it would cost, how long it would take etc etc.

depending upon where in uttarakhand you're travelling to, i would suggest you take a bus. good luxury buses ply between towns in UK and delhi.
