Hi everyone!

I'm Polina, soaking up Bali life for 10 years now. Moving here was a leap into a world of stunning landscapes, rich culture, and incredible people. Bali has taught me to live more openly and connect deeply with those around me.

For newbies or future °µÍø½ûÇøs, my tip is to dive in with all your heart. There’s a lot to explore and learn, from the language to the laid-back lifestyle. The community here is amazing, always ready to help and welcome newcomers.

If you're about to start your journey in Indonesia, you’re in for a treat! Feel free to reach out if you need tips or just want to chat about Bali. Welcome to the adventure!

Looking forward to hearing your stories!

Hi<

I am les from UK. I have been in Indonesia for 20+years and now I am going back to UK.

I want to take my cat with me and although the UK rules are pretty clear I still need more clarification.

Anybody done this (take pet to UK) recently or know someone who has.

I need an "official veterinarian / veterinarian authorised by the competent authority in Indonesia".  Not sure what that means exactly - is there a government authority in Indonesia that regulates vets?

Any advice appreciated.

Cheryl

Hello everyone,

If you have some insight to share with les819, please reply here > Taking pet from Indonesia to UK

Hi everyone, I moved back to Indonesia a couple of months ago - and I'm sure everyone can agree that this can be an extremely hectic city to live in, especially if it's your first time in Jakarta.

Figuring out the best place to stay could be a tricky thing too.. between finding a place that is well maintained, with privacy, security, and easy access to other areas, there are certain things to look out for.

So if anyone is looking for new apartments to live in Central or South Jakarta, shoot me a message and let me know if I can help ◡̈

Hello everyone, my name is Filipe I am from Portugal. I love Indonesia, have a girlfriend from Flores and I am in the process of getting married in Indonesia, one day I wish to retire there as it is my favourite country.

At the moment I am seeking advice on Visa for my partner in order for her to come with me to Europe after the marriage. Have a good day

Hi Juiien,

This may be a bit premature, as I must learn more about Immigration and probably arrive as a tourist which I understand will be for 30 days which can be extended for another 30.

Having been to Indonesia in the past realize that rules change, so if this isn't current please bring me up do date.

It is kind of you to email me. Having been to Surabaya in the past is a help, but it was years ago, and am sure things have changed. Coming as a tourist should permit me to gain a feel for things.

Being alone and keeping  an eye open for a female companion will be on my list,,as mentioned in my previous post.

My bar adventures are in the past, and this is the reason for my questions concerning means of getting acquainted possibly with a Christian or Catholic lady possibly in her late thirties or early forties.

Thanks

Cannonball

Good evening, °µÍø½ûÇø community!

I’m excited to be a new member here. My name is Reka, and I’m from Budapest, Hungary. I arrived in Bali a few weeks ago for the first time and have decided to spend the next few months in Ubud.

I have a deep passion for exploring places and cultures, and I’m always curious about people, their habits, and ways of life.

Professionally, I’m a film editor, and I also work as a mentor in the cinematic field.

Also, if anyone has recommendations or information about local events, tips, or suggestions, I’d love to hear about them. It would be great to experience more of what Bali has to offer.

Thank you,

Reka

@Monsoon96

Hi , check out the rules on the Australian age pension if your planing to retire here an claim the pension . particularly the 2 year portability rule . Lot of °µÍø½ûÇøs being caught out . Can't claim the pension here because Australia an Inonesia on't have a Social Security Agreement which means you'll have to return to Oz to claim , convince them your back in Oz to live permanently , an stay there 'OZ ' for 2 years before you can move back to Inonesia . If your near pension age wait an claim the pension before moving , as long as you've live in Oz for the 2 years prior to claiming you'll be able to move O/Seas when you get it . My "d" key is jamming ,not respon ing , sorry .

Monsoon96

@joegroper

yeah thanks fella...aged pension not on my radar, so all good...
