Hello everyone, I'm a content writer for °µÍø½ûÇø Magazine. We are working on an article exploring the experiences of °µÍø½ûÇøs with online shopping as compared to in-person shopping. We would love to hear about your shopping experiences to include as testimonials in the piece. Which type of shopping have you found most practical or interesting in your location? Thank you in advance for sharing with us.

Both. Shoes I prefer to try them in a shop. Electronics I prefer to buy online from official stores. Online is very often cheaper than in a physical store. There you go!

Too many duff shops on Shopee and Tokopedia (The two biggest apps out here) mean I only use them for small stuff of limited value.

As was mentioned in the other thread, look for reviews and how old the shop is, but that is not an actual guarantee you will get what you ordered.

The most blatant was a set of racks that were nothing like the ones shown by the shop, and the most expensive was an electronic toy the seller simply lied about.

The latter almost didn't get refunded, but the seller admitted he messed up when he tried to show evidence he was in the right.

For those into computers, tablets, and so on, make sure the IMEI has been registered for use in Indonesia. Message the seller with a direct question so there is a refund available if it is not. WiFi only are no issue.

Also, watch out for grey imports - they may not have a guarentee. (See Samsung Active 5 - it's not available here, but it is advertised online)

I will use the two platforms above, but now only for cheap stuff, or buying from shops I actually know and trust.

As mentioned on the other thread, I have absolutely no problems with my first ever online shop - perfect every time.

I can't remember how many years I've been using jakartanotebook.com, but it's a long time.
