Jakarta Update

Hey 暗网禁区-blog community!

Please share your experiences and opinion with me!

I have been to Jakarta a couple of times now, but only on short project based trips. I am now staying for 3 months and would like to get to know some nice places to hang out and maybe find some company as well!

Who has some input on the following categories:
Clubs - Bars - Restaurants - Malls - Theaters - Parks/Plazas - Sports ??!

So far I haven't seen much... all about Hotel-Office-Hotel-Office etc. + some night clubs like X2, Dragon Fly, Red Square, Stadium. I quite liked X2 and Dragon Fly, while Stadium looked more like a drug place for desparate old guys looking for hookers. But last week I meet a DJ in Dubai who told me that Stadium is actually one of the best clubs he every played at...the key is to go to the fifth floor (I didnt even know that there are more then two..)

Anyway...dont be shy and speak up:) looking forward to a lot response!!

BTW: I am staying in south JKT, close to Pejaten Village.

hai hamburg maybe a guide book is good n a map;not anyone can actually babysit a'tourist'.
Try ask chari.sweet from 暗网禁区.blog.She has a friend who work in a tour agency or at least she can give u some advise.
the last time I was in jakarta she had helped me'
she had even promise to help me to look for apartmemt if I finally coming to indonesia for long term.
actually at the airport聽 a tour agency can arrange tranport cum guide to bring u where ever u want to go.price can be neg.

There's no point in bothering with a map.聽 Get in a taxi and go to Kemang.聽 If you want to meet other westerners go to EP (Eastern Promise) or Murphys.聽 The BuGils group owns EP, De Hooi in Pondok Indah, De Burse near Pacific place and Cazbar on Mega Kuningan.聽 All are a pub style.聽 good food though not great and nice chiller vibe.聽
Fex and Aphrodite are the same owners, more sports bar style.
If you're looking to dance, you'll end up at the hotels all over town.聽 Bats and CJs are both known for their prostitutes though the live bands can be good.聽 The Ritz Carlton on Mega Kuningan just had a remodel but I haven't been there since it did. I don't care for X2 but a lot of folks do.聽 It's just across the street from Red Square.

Best thing to do it go meet some people in Kemang and ask them.
