Hello,

I am an IT professional with over 30 years of experience in the US and I am 52 years old. I am planning to work in Malaysia for few years. Is there an age restriction if I apply for a job as a foreigner?聽 I heard the visa is not granted if the applicant is over 50. Is that true? Appreciate replies if anybody knows the answer.

@Good_day They are not granting any kind of visa to any foreigners these days, thats why their cyberjaya project failed. They treat skilled/unskilled, investors all in same category. You can see their PVIP visa requirements then you will understand which status of foreigners they want to attract. Other Asean countries have better Visa system for foreigners try to apply there.

@Good_day I have been working in Malaysia since 2019. When I arrived I was already 58 years old and had 3 Employment Pass Cat 1, because I changed from the original company to a contractor of my current company, and the EP is tied to the employer. I switched EP once more when the company brought me as a permanent employee. Earlier this year I got the Talent Pass (10-year visa) even at my age.

So it depends on your CV, the area of expertise, and the company you would work for.

Hi, I am a professional of 57 yrs intending to work in malaysia. Could you pls let me know what kind of work visa did you get in 2019, at 58 yrs as I understand there are age restrictions for work permit. Pls let me know ....
