Joey are you no longer a Malaysian citizens? Do you know what kind of visa you will need to settle in Malaysia? Do you plan to apply for the MM2H program or are you allowed to just move back to Malaysia as Dutch citizens?

Rental property is easy to research by going to any of the online property search sites such as iproperty, property guru, the star property etc.

No idea for schools in Kuantan. For secondhand cars, probably a lot easier to find one when you get here.

Hi Joey, we were in Kuantan from Nov 2019 to July 2022. My wife was a teacher at the International school of Kuantan. This school follows an American curriculum up to the age of 18. Another International school is the Regent school which I believe is cheaper. We were lucky on the rental side as a parent of the school was leaving to work overseas and the timing was perfect for us to rent their house. There is not much choice for °µÍø½ûÇø accommodation but never take their asking price as some often ask for KL prices.

As regards cars, the second hand market is so strong that we just bought a new Peredua (local make), it was a seven seater with loads of space and we didn't lose much when we left and sold it.

Not many bars in Kuantan but a popular one is the Puteh Beach Bar, obviously on the beach and great for kids. There is the Hyatt, expensive (for the area) but great facilities and a mean club sandwich! The Black Pearl in town has decent draft beer and do lovely Ikan Bilis. There is a very small °µÍø½ûÇø community but there is a small group of ladies called the Kuantan Ladies Group who meet up for coffees.meals, exercise classes etc.
