That's a low paid job done by locals and indos. You would have to have to be brought in on the unskilled wp - basically slave labour and treated worse than a slave in many cases. I will quote one top guy I met here once "we don't need low class people to immigrate to Malaysia" low paid workers are treated bad! So I wouldn't reccomed it

Morning guys,

I am reading here for months now.
Also pleased to read Nemodto's comments.
He really knows what he is speaking about.
Every third new message is about people who want to move to Malaysia and asking if they can get a good life on 7-9000MYR.
I think there are enough malaysian's who are on miserable wages and there is no need to import cheap labour.
I would definitely not come from Europe if I had to come to live on this amount of money.
Probably people living in poorer countries and working for a few hundred £ a months think, that around MYR 10k is good but I don't think so.
Sure, there a hundred's of thousands Malaysians who don't earn 10k a month but they have been brought up there, have their family there etc.
I was now a few times in KL and surroundings and Malaysia is definitively not the cheap country.
Probably 10 years ago countries like Asia, Latin America were cheap countries where you can live for a few 100£ but this is not more the case. Now they are catching up very quickly.
I lived in Brasil and if you want to live a decent live, not to much compromising with the lifestyle used in Europe, is is definitely not cheap any more.
We did our figures and we will only go, if we have the following budget:

Housing: betweenMYR£7000-13000 (I know, it is possible to get something for Myr 3000
We have seen some apartments in KLCC and the standard we wanted was around 10-12k or more
School: international schools are not cheap:
Cars: very expensive, so only considering by bringing our car in through MM2H
Private health insurance
going out for a meal
once a year a flight back to europe
etc....

We are working towards having a budget of £5,000 monthly available if not, we are not making the move.
Again, with this kind of money, you can live everywhere in Europe and live quite well.
Who thinks living in Malaysia is cheap, is wrong unless you want to live on the cheap.
Either you are contracted by a european, american, australian etc company who pay you decent wages and pay for your accommodation, for your kid's school etc, than Malaysia is a very good option (mostly for people working in the oil or gas business).
Or you are employed as a teacher for an international school etc.
Doctors, lawyers etc are not needed there as there is not a shortage of highly skilled persons. Most of them have studied in europe or america.
This is just my 5 cents worth.
