Hello,

it depends what you are expecting. There are a few international schools in Kathmandu, but they are costly. Kathmandu is heavily polluted, traffic jam is usual. There are no parks in the city to go for a walk with children. Nice houses with garden are easily available if you are ready to spend 500 Euro ore more per month. There are a few good hospitals as well. For the daily living nearly everything is available. We have regular load sheddings (power cuts), lasting from four hours daily during the rainy season, up to 15 hours daily during the dry season, October to April/May. One can have a generator of course, but it doesn't help if there is diesel shortage. A inverter is also fine, but if it is a big one it won't load enough during the few hours when there is power. Very often there are general strikes where shops are closed and no traffic is allowed. Then life becomes difficult in case a doctor or hospital is needed.
