Six-Month Mini Sabbatical in POKHARA/

escap2015

I am a senior American member, but not yet retired, and I have an opportunity:

* My international development-consultancy assignment in Kathmandu, Nepal has been shortened by six months (meaning I am an unemployed professional consultant starting in September). Before returning to the USA in January 2019, I was considering to move from Kathmandu to live in Pokhara for six months. i have a valid visa, and I can make do without an income. If I take the mini-sabbatical, I will need a nice modern two-bedroom furnished apartment. For professional °µÍø½ûÇøriates in Pokhara, is this a good, kick-back plan? Ditto for anyone who has previously lived long-term in Pokhara. Any thoughts regarding how I might find a suitable apartment, after having thoroughly searched Google?

* if I make the move, I could continue to search for short-term consulting assignments in Nepal and neighboring countries, either as an individual or through my 20+ year old consulting firm. Or conduct workshops for public sector officials and private sector executives. Any thoughts regarding soothing the entrepreneurial bug while on mini-sabbatical?

This is a big decision for me, and I appreciate your advice. Namaste!

Google Pokhara Studio Inn. There are also other places in Pokhara but you have to walk around and look for an Apt for rent sign. Finding a place that does not have construction going on near it is rare. Good luck.☺ Dont pay for the scam charges like electric, wifi and gas. A studio should run $200-$225USD for a long term rental.
