Brits getting married in the Philippines

Andyjob

Hi, wondering if anyone can help?

I'm planning on getting married to my fiance sometime this year if all goes to plan.

Our background info below....felt I'd add now, as after reading other posts, saw these questions being asked 1f603.svg

We've been together for about 4 years, engaged for 2.

We didn't meet on line, and yes, we've met, spent time together etc.

I'm from the UK, but live in Taiwan .

I've never been married (nor has she).

No children involved.

I'm almost 54 / shes 38 and a marketing manageress living in Iloilo.

I will be moving to the Philippines to join her there once I'm finished here in Taiwan. We're not planning on living in the UK.

I'm trying to find out what paperwork I'll need, and how I go about getting it signed off?

I believe I need some sort of form to prove I'm not married. Does anyone have recent, up to date information on what's needed, as a UK citizen, getting married in the Philippines?

Many thanks in advance,

Andy.

Hi Andy and welcome to the forum, you nailed it with your first post, All I can say is what's the hurry to get married. Others can pipe in from the UK with regards to marriage clearances, take your time and enjoy the Philippines before you tie the knot, see how things pan out as we all do, aside good luck, I and all here wish you well.

cheers, Steve.

Welcome to the Forum and thank you for a well written first post, giving all relevant information. May I suggest having a look on the UK Gov website. I just had a quick look and most of the information you require seems to be there. It might be a little more complicated in your case since you are currently in a third country. You do need the British equivalent of the Philippine Cenomar which is know by different names. (Certificate of Legal Capacity to Marriage, Certificate of no Impediment to Marriage or Legal Capacity Certificate).
