EP Pending and New Job Offer Came

Hello,

I am in a bit tricky situation right now, I know it is posted multiple times in other threads, but older ones.

Company A offered me a job last Jan 9, 2025 and processed my EP last Jan 16, 2025 and it is in Pending state since then. It will be on the 8th week tomorrow, I still got no updates from Company A about my EP status and where it was stucked. I keep on following up with the recruiters but got no response and they said, no justifications or any updates also coming from MOM.

Yesterday, March 11, 2025, Company B offered me a job with their company. They told me that Company A needs to cancel the EP Application first before they can apply for a new one. Given this situation, will I be able to cancel the previous application with Company A and will it raise a red flag to MOM regarding this new job offer that I receive from Company B when they try to apply for my EP?

Only the applicant (i.e. your employer) can cancel a work pass application. And they must do so when you terminate the employment contract you have with them. It can still take a week or so until the application is removed from MoM's system and the new employer can submit theirs.

MoM dislikes job-hoppers. Whether that also means cancelling an application after 8 weeks is negative, can only be speculated about. But of course there is no guarantee that the second application is more successful, or faster, than the first.

Nope, After 2 mos of waiting, I've decided to ask the company to withdraw the application and fortunately, was able to find a new job. I'm in a waiting game again...
